Tati's injury is not so bad
26th October 2007
Here what Tati writes on her blog ;)
Well unfortunately I won't be able to continue at the Generali Ladies Linz this week because I injured my knee in my match today. I'm really disappointed - it sucks that the season had to end this way for me. I guess it's just my body's way of telling me that's enough and I've played too much. It could have been worse though. I'm able to walk and it doesn't seem to be too long-term. And at least now I can look forward to some time off and some well-deserved rest, and get ready for 2008. We're going to try to fly out to Paris in the morning. I've got some things I'd like to do out there, then I'll head back to Miami after that. I'm really looking forward to going back home - I haven't been back there since the US Open. I'll probably take a vacation to the Caribbean, see some friends... just try to enjoy myself! I've gotten some really nice comments about the blog this week. Hopefully all of you enjoyed it. I try to do as much as I can to give back to the fans, and the blog is a great way to let people know who we are. We don't just think about tennis 24/7 - and this is a great way of showing that. And I'm so thankful for all of the support from all of you; I've had some tough times this year, and to have people out there caring and supporting you helps keep you positive in those times. So another season ends... you know, despite what happened today I'm so happy with my season. I was injured in the middle of the year but I played some good tennis at the beginning and then came back strong at the end. So now I can take some time off to get myself fresh for Australia. I'll spend some time in Europe and am probably going to the mountains in November, so I have a few things planned... I'll share that with you next year as I look forward to blogging again! Oh and I've attached a picture of me trying on the snow shoes I won on Tuesday night at the player party... Take care, thanks for all your support and talk to you soon :)

It's right ankle injury for Tati
25th October 2007
We still don't know if it's bad or not: the season is over but I hope this won't affect the preparation for 2008 and the beginning of the new season :( Here's some Tati quotes:
"I just slipped running for a drop shot and felt like I twisted my ankle."
"Then I think with that my knee went as well. I tried to continue my play but I couldn't extend my knee afterwards. Right now I'm a little bit under shock, because anything that happens to my ankle I'm very sensitive to because of everything that happened before."
Hope we will know more soon but get well soon Tati!

Right knee injury for Tati
24th October 2007
Well it seems that Tati retired due to a right knee injury: I really hope this isn't too serious and I hope that we will have more info during these hours but I think that her season will finish here and she will not go to Quebec City, get well soon Tati!

Tati has to retire again
24th October 2007
Tati has to retire during her 1st round match in Linz while she was losing 6-4 1-0 to Eleni Daniilidou; I still don't know what's happened but I really hope Tati was only tired and the injury is due to the too much play; stay tuned for more news and in the meantime I've added two new pics of Tati at the players party in Linz, you can watch them here.

Tati's gonna play tomorrow
23rd October 2007
Tati's gonna play tomorrow her 1st round match in Linz against Eleni Daniilidou: their encounter is scheduled to be the third one on Centre Court (play starts at 2:00 pm so not probably 5:30 pm). Tati has never won against Daniilidou cause she lost all the two times they played in 2004. 2004 was like a million of years ago for both players so it's an open match but Tati needs to be very focused, good luck Tati!

Tati lost to Henin
21st October 2007
Tati lost the Zurich final to Justine Henin 6-4 6-4. Tati played worse than in the Stuttgart final making a lot of unforced mistakes but maybe it's because this time was feeling more pressure, she felt like she was capable to win this. On the other hand Justine was more concentrated, she knows that Tati is a strong opponent. In the first set Tati went 4-1 with only one break but since then she lost six games in a row losing the 1st set 6-4 and going 1-0 down in the second with a break; then she broke Justine back but Justine broke her again and then Tati started to be more and more demotivated and I started to think that it was going to end 6-1. Tati was instead capable of holding all her serves but Justine served really good and she was impossible to break again and she won the match 6-4 6-4. This is a sad conclusion of an amazing week, Tati really needs to improve mentally cause she's such a great player!Tomorrow she will be number 13rd in the world, currently her best ranking ever and she will be one of the favourites in Linz along with Vaidisova, so don't be sad and good luck Tati!

Linz draw
20th October 2007
In the meantime Linz draw has also been released and in the 1st round Tati will meet Eleni Danilidou from Greek. If she will win she will probably find Alona Bondarenko and then the number two seed Daniela Hantuchova, a pretty good draw I think ;)

Tati is in the final again!
20th October 2007
Tati has easily beaten Francesca Schiavone 6-0 6-4 to reach Zurich final where she will meet Justine Henin, again :) Tati is playing really good in these weeks and it's not surprising that she will find the world number one in the final, hope Tati will play like she did in the first set in Stuttgart for the entire encounter :)

Tati is in the semis!
19th October 2007
I still don't know why Marion has to retire but Tati has definetely been lucky; infact she was losing 4-5 in the 1st set with a break and she still didn't had a single break ball on Bartoli's serve (she has instead saved four more break points). Now tomorrow in the semis (the match is scheduled to be the second one on Center Court with play starting at 1:30 pm) she will have to face again Francesca Schiavone who defeated by retirement Svetlana Kuznetsova. Tati won the last two meetings after the FedCup defeat (the last one has been in Luxembourg a couple of weeks ago) so she starts definetely as the favourite but she needs to be very careful...good luck Tati!

Tomorrow order of play
18th October 2007
Tati's encounter is scheduled to be the last one on Center Court not before the 8:30 pm, good luck Tati!

What an amazing win for Tati
17th October 2007
Tati has finally beaten her nemesis Ana Ivanovic 6-3 6-1 to reach Zurich quarter finals! This is such a great win for Tati! I didn't had the chance to catch the match on tv and maybe Ana played relaxed since she's already qualified for the Masters but Tati played a definetely good match, especially mentally.
Now her next opponent will be Bartoli. Tati has played against her once before last year in Tokyo and she lost 6-3 6-0 but I think this isn't a significant result cause Tati now will be full of confidence and ready to beat her ;) This encounter will be played on friday but obviously the order of play is still unknown, go Tati!

Tati's gonna play tomorrow
16th October 2007
Tati is gonna play tomorrow the third encounter on Center Court in any case not before the 5:50 pm local time, good luck Tati!

Tati continues her winning serie
15th October 2007
Tati won a definitely tough 1st round match in Zurich against Maria Kirilenko 6-3 6-4. Maria won Kolkata tournament the same week that Tati won Portoroz and she was playing a pretty good tennis but Tati controlled her, playing another great match especially on her serve. Now her next opponent will be Ana Ivanovic, I have nothing to say about it...I only hope that Tati will be able to play her tennis, then no matter if she wins or she loses :) good luck Tati and be relaxed!

Tati's gonna play tomorrow
14th October 2007
Tati's gonna play tomorrow her 1st round match in Zurich against Maria Kirilenko and her encounter is scheduled to be the third one on Center Court (so probably not before the 3:00 pm).
A bad news is represented by the fact that Maria Sharapova withdrew and so Tati, if she will win, in the 2nd round she will have to face Ana Ivanovic, hope she will win at least a set this time :)...good luck Tati!

Zurich draw released
13rd October 2007
Zurich draw has been released this afternoon and it's definetely not a lucky one since Tati will have to face Maria Kirilenko in the first round and, if she will win, Maria Sharapova in the second. I know it's a tier I event and there's a strong players field but it will be very difficult since the very first round :) Anyway Tati has played against Makiri only one time before last year in Zurich and she has to retire for an injury that closed her season...so at least Tati try to not get hurt this time ;)
Monday's schedule of play is still unknown but you can take a look at the entire draw by clicking here.

Tati lost in a good way
7th October 2007
Tati lost 2-6 6-2 6-1 to Justine Henin but it's fine. Tati played better than the world number one in the first set but then something happened in the second: Justine started to play a little better and when broke Tati on 3-2 it seems that it was already over. Maybe Tati was just a bit tired or disappointed but I don't care, if she will be able to play like she did in the 1st set for a long period, it's for sure a future top 3 and Grand Slam winner! Now Tati will have a week off and her next tournament will be Zurich the week after and I'm gonna immediately start uploading the final, go Tati...I'm so proud!

Tati has been simply fantastic!
6th October 2007
Tati has beaten number two seed Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-2 6-4 playing an unbelievable match!Tati's game has been so solid and perfect, if she will play like she will have some chances in the tomorrow's final against Justine. I can't believe that with this player's field she has been able to defend last year's final points. Tomorrow order of play is still unknown, Justine won the two previous meetings (the last one is from this year in Paris and Justine won only at the third set 6-3) but when Tati played against her she always showed something great...good luck Tati!

Tati's in the semis!
5th October 2007
Sorry for the late update but I'm really really busy in these days :( in any case Tati won the quarters match versus Kateryna Bondarenko 6-3 6-4. Tati has been very solid and made a lot of points with her serve: now in the semis she will face the winner of the match between Kuznetsova and Serena Williams. I think that Tati has some chances with both them, more than with Justine Henin for example :)

Tati is gonna play tomorrow
4th October 2007
Tati is gonna play tomorrow her QF match at 2:00 pm local time on center court (watch it live on Eurosport ;) )but her opponent will be Kateryna Bondarenko, not Ana Ivanovic. This is such a great news for Tati, she seems not to be able to play against Ana even thought Kateryna is a very good player! This will be their first meeting and Tati seems to be the favourite, but it's gonna be a very tough match...good luck Tati!

Tati won a great match!
3rd October 2007
What a great match Tati played! She beat Anna Chakvetadze 7-6(3) 6-1 winning the first set at the tie-break after being down 2-5. In the second set she made some unbelievable shots taking advantage of Anna's mistakes and loss of confidence. Now on friday in the quarters she's gonna face or Alona Bondarenko or the winner of the match between Ivanovic and Schnyder; probably it will be Ana again, hope Tati won't choke another time :), good luck Tati!

Tati is gonna play tomorrow
2nd October 2007
Tati's gonna play tomorrow the second encounter on Center Court (play starts at 2:00 pm, local time) and it will broadcasted by Eurosport, good luck Tati!

Tati is in the second round
1st October 2007
Tati has easily beaten Martina Muller 6-1 6-1 to reach Stuttgart second round where she will find Anna Chakvetadze, the number fourth seed. The previous encounters are tied at 2-2: Anna won the last meeting this year in Miami 6-1 6-3. I think that it's a very open match and Tati can win it since Anna didn't play her best last week in Luxembourg losing to Bartoli. In any case the match will be probably played on Wednesday, good luck Tati!
