Tati Update

So now Tati is in the Rome main draw again, I don't know what to think :) I guess I will keep my mouth closed and I will wait to see what it comes :)
Tati has withdrawn from both Berlin and Rome events

I'm really sad to announce that it seems that Tati has withdrawn from both Berlin and Rome tournaments always for her ankle problem. In Berlin her place in the main draw will be taken by Rezai and in Rome by Shaughnessy. I guess she will probably play Strasbourg before Roland Garros just to not go to Paris unprepared. Have a good rest and get well soon Tati!

There are rumors that Tati withdrew from Berlin, I don't know if this is true cause she's still in the players list but what I can say is that she told in an interview after the FedCup encounter that she still has problem with her ankle :( Hopefully if this is a real news she won't miss Rome too also cause I'm going there to see her on May 14 :)

Just to make a little update while we're alla waiting for Berlin draw I've added two new encounters of other players :) The first one is Hantuchova vs Safina at Stuttgart 2006 and the second one is Pennetta vs Peng at this year FedCup. You can download them respectivily here and here.

Tati has beaten Ai Sugiyama 7-6(3) 6-0 to give France the third point and the win against Japan. After Tati's win Razzano won the other single match and Dechy/Bremond won the doubles: it was a 5-0 win!:=) Now Tati will celebrate and rest for a little and her next tournament will be Berlin, finally on red clay in Europe, starting on May 7. Congratulations again, Tati!

I wrote a small java program to choose the winner, it's called "Random": I've inserted all the email addresses that you send me in an array, I've exctracted randomly a number and then I've picked up the email address whom position in the array was the same as the number extracted. If you want you can download it here and you can test it using a specific software such as "Eclipse" :) But now it's time for the winner...the winner is "tatianagolovin@telenet.be", congratulations! Tati has beaten Akiko Morigami 6-2 6-4 to give France a 2-0 lead after Nathalie's win against Sugiyama. Now tomorrow Tati will play the first encounter against Sugiyama to close the tie, go Tati!

In these days I've been pretty busy, but I've finally finished what I'm gonna give to one of you :) It's a video dvd that I made with a pretty box and an interactive menu dedicated to Tati's win in Amelia Island (it contains her QF, SF and F encounters). Here you can view the front of the box, the back and the menu. Tati's next commitment will be the FedCup 1st Round against Japan: it will take place in the next week-end from April 21st to April 22nd at Limoges in France. The other players nominated along with Tati are: Nathalie Dechy, Severine Bremond and Virginie Razzano. The japanese team is composed by Ai Sugiyama, Akiko Morigami, Aiko Nakamura and Ayumi Morita. The draw ceremony will be on Friday but Tati will be with the French team since this monday, good luck Tati!
I'm working on a little thing dedicated to Tati's Amelia Island win; I can't tell you more but I want to give "this" to one of you Tati fan :)
Tati was forced to retire

Tati didn't end her QF match against Safina because she was forced to retire for a right ankle injury; I don't think this one it's too serious like the previous ones because she retired at the end of a set and maybe it was more a precaution because in these two weeks she played so many encounters. I'm glad that she made this decision because playing again and again it could have made this worst. Tati is so unlucky, she needs to protect herself from this kind of things :( Anyway for more info you can read Tati's interview transcript here.

Tati has just beaten Shuai Peng 6-2 4-6 6-3 and she reached the quarters where she's gonna play against Dinara Safina; I didn't see Tati's match but watching at the result I must say that she has been very strong and in the end she seems more mature to me after winning her first title :) tomorrow order of play is still unknown but Tati's surely gonna play (hopefully in the period of time covered by Eurosport :) ).
Tati has played four times before against Safina and she won three of that matches. Three of them ended at the third set and the most recent one was in Antwerp in 2005: since that both girls are really improved but I think it's gonna be a pretty close match anyway. I really hope that Tati won't be too tired, I'm really proud of the way she's behaving!Good luck, Tati!

Tati's match is scheduled to be the third one on Stadium Court (play starts at 11:00 am). Her opponent will be Shuai Peng who has beaten Patty Schnyder last night. Tati has a negative record against her: she lost two times in 2003 and in 2005 and she won only once this year in Sydney 6-4 7-5. I really hope that Tati can repeat that Sydney win!Good luck Tati!

Tati won another match and she reached Family Circle Cup third round by beating Jill Craybas 6-0 6-1, this is such an impressive win!Now she's gonna face the winner of the match between Shuai Peng and Patty Schnyder; it's pretty difficult say who's gonna win this match but both are tough players and Tati will have to continue to give her best!

Tati won her 6th consecutive match by beating Dominika Cibulkova 6-4 6-1 in the first round of the Family Circle Cup. Now her next opponent will be Jill Craybas; Tati has played against her once before in 2004 in Rome and she won 6-4 6-2 but I think that the Tati we have all seen in Amelia Island can easily beat her again, go Tati!

Tati's gonna play today her first round match in Charleston against Dominika Cibulkova; Tati has never played against her before but I think she must be concentrated cause Dominika is a young player (it's one year younger than Tati) and she can be relaxed after winning her first title. I know we're all still celebrating Tati's win but I must say that Charleston draw has already been released and in the first round Tati has to play against a qualifier or a lucky loser and then in a second round again against a qualifier/lucky loser or Jill Craybas. The first seed Tati can find is Patty Schnyder in the third round; it's a pretty good round, hopefully Tati won't be too tired after this amazing win and the probably wild celebration :) You can view the entire draw here.

At her fourth final Tati was able to catch her first WTA title!Tati played in an amazing way, she was strong, she was able to make winners, she kept Petrova under pressure all the time! She totally deserves this win, today she played like a top ten player!She didn't felt the pressure at the end and catching the title on Petrova's serve probably helped her :) I know that from this day on things will be less complicated for Tati, she lost a great weight by winning today and now she can play more secure of herself!I don't what can I say more to describe this, I just want to upload the match so everyone can see how well she played!So stay tuned for it and again congratulations Tati!!

Tati finally beats Ivanovic and moves into the final!

I guess this is been the sweetest way for Tati to reach the final: finally beating Ana Ivanovic! It was a strange match like the previous ones, both players have played better (especially Tati) but there has been a lot of unforced errors, breaks and missed opportunities. Infact Tati had her chances to lead 4-3 in the second but then she lost 6-3; in the third set Tati went 5-2, she served for the match but Ana broke her back and went 4-5 and Tati won only on the third match with a great point. I'm very satisfied with the way Tati played, she was very focused and she didn't let the match go even after the way she lost the second set. Now tomorrow in the final she's gonna face the winner of the match between Nadia Petrova and Sybille Bammer, so probably Nadia but you never know how things go in tennis. If the opponent will be Nadia, Tati will have the chance to take revenge of the Stuttgart final; good luck Tati and congratulations for the great match!

Tati has played a really strong match and she has beaten Venus Williams 6-4 6-3. Venus made a lot of unforced errors but Tati was really good to remain focused and win the first set and take advantage of four games in the second; then Venus started to play better and Tati made some unforced errors and Venus was able to break Tati back two times to go 3-4. At that point Tati played two amazing game and won 6-3!Now she's gonna face Ana Ivanovic and this make me a little bit nervous cause Tati always lost against her (5 times) playing a terrible tennis. Now Tati is playing really good on this surface and I hope tomorrow will beat Ivanovic for the first time in her career, good luck Tati!

I'm really glad to announce that Tati's match will be the second on Stadium Court (play starts at 11:00 am, but the second match doesn't start before 1:00 pm) and it will be showed by EuroSport from 19:00 (GMT + 1:00 h). Later I will upload the match and the third episode of "Tatiana's World", good luck again Tati!

Tati has beaten again Sam Stosur 6-2 6-1 and she reached the qf in Amelia Island!Now she's gonna face Venus Williams and this is gonna be a pretty tough match; Tati has played against her once before in 2005 in Charleston and she won 7-5 6-4, I really hope that she will play as good as she used to play two years ago!Tomorrow schedule of play is still unknown but I hope that Tati's match will be the one televised by Eurosport, good luck Tati! After the match on Eurosport at about 20:45 (GMT + 1:00 h) don't miss the third episode of "Tatiana's World" live from Miami!

Tati has easily beaten Catalina Castano 6-03 6-3 to reach the third round where she will face Sam Stosur. Tati has recently played with her in Indian Wells and she won 6-2 6-0, hope she will repeat that win!I'm pretty sure that Tati's gonna play again tomorrow but the schedule of play is still unknown, so stay tuned for the latest updates :)
